Solar energy information
Solar power makes sense for quite a few reasons. Solar power is all nicely and good, it does not support the foolish use of our electrical power, on any given night it is possible to see empty parking lots lite all evening long or roads and bridges lite just to create them look pretty. Solar power has been employed to decrease our carbon footprints for decades.
If solar power was that expensive as people claim and it’s rightly so then how Nevarra, a area in Spain, generates 70% of its total electrical energy wants through solar and wind energy? And thoughts you! The advantages of solar power contain its abundance and little operational upkeep.
The solar power systems offer electrical energy to stand alone remote cabins as well as remote telemetry and sensing gear. Ironically, the economies of scale inherent in solar suggest that first-movers can be penalized for taking the leap into solar too soon, locking them into electrical energy expenses which are greater than their competitors, who are buying next generation technologies (feel of the UK mobile phone marketplace, which was to some extent hampered by acquiring to mobile phones too soon and locking in towards the incorrect technologies, thereby surrendering technical superiority to other markets including Japan, South Korea, as well as the EU).

Solid Technology Advice For Someone Wanting Information About Green Energy
Article by Patrick Sutter
In this down economy, green energy is a popular topic. Green energy is cheaper, allowing people to spend a lot less while protecting natural resources. Continue reading to get some basic green energy tips.
Spending a little more on green appliances and electronics generally pays off over time. Although green technology is a bit more expensive, it quickly pays for itself in lower bills. You will also enjoy knowing that you are having a positive impact on the environment.
Whenever possible, you should use cold water to wash your clothes. Almost 90% of energy consumption during clothes being washed is a result of the hot water usage. As long as your detergent is good, cold water washing can be just as effective as warm water. Don’t forget to wait until you have a full load of laundry to wash; that is the energy efficient way.
Keep an eye out for Energy Star labels when shopping for energy-efficient appliances. ENERGY STAR appliances must meet all the guidelines which have been established by the U.S. Department of Energy as well as the EPA. These products are also often the only ones eligible for tax rebates.
Insist that your government pass laws that help encourage companies to use green energy. Awareness can be powerful, and it is something that is under-utilized at the moment. People might be less inclined to purchase from companies that reject the idea of using green practices. The first step toward increasing the practice of green habits is to make people aware of each company’s policies and actions.
Cease bottle water usage. In many cases, bottled water is simply municipal water that has been bottled, and bottling and shipping it wastes lots of energy. If you don’t want to drink your tap water, buy a re-usable metal bottle for your water and buy a filter which can be replaced every couple of months.
By weatherizing your home, you can improve its energy efficiency. By making some simple improvements like adding a bit of foam insulation or sealing drafty windows, you can improve the comfort level of your home and decrease your energy usage. You may also see real savings on your energy bill!
Create a high demand for green energy and you will help lower the price. All consumers have the power and right to encourage technologies that are environmentally friendly. The more anything is in demand the more these types of products are sure to be manufactured, most likely reducing their price as well. It also works to encourage companies to change their practices.
For anyone looking to be as green as possible, a straw bale house is an interesting option. They are a great way to provide insulation, and it’s inexpensive as well. If you don’t want to rebuild an entire home using straw, try building a smaller structure near your home to help you save energy costs part of the time.
Choose environmentally-friendly lighting for your home. Compact fluorescent bulbs are a cheap, affordable type of bulb that is better for the environment than regular light bulbs. They give off a fair amount of light and use much less energy than a standard light bulb. You can keep your home environmentally friendly easily and effectively in this manner.
Use rechargeable batteries for all of your modern toys, instead of disposables. Traditional batteries get thrown into the trash, and that is very bad for the environment. Save the environment and some money with rechargeable batteries. Each rechargeable battery that you purchase can help you reduce your battery costs by over one hundred dollars.
When you are sleeping, or not at home, set your thermostat to 60 degrees to save energy. Having the heat set at 60 degrees uses the minimum quantity of energy possible. You can minimize energy usage and save money.
One way that an energy-conscious consumer can conserve energy is making his own ice. Automatic ice makers often use excess energy and are prone to breaking down. They often have leaky seals which mean more energy has to be used. By making ice the old fashioned way, you can save yourself money and energy.
If you clean your dishes using a dishwasher, don’t run it until it’s completely full. The same amounts of water and energy are used every time. When you do use the dishwasher, be certain to always use the setting for saving energy, which air-dries your dishes.
If you want to be green, you should think about transforming your cooling and heating system into a geothermal one. These alternative HVAC systems involve running pipes underground that contain refrigerant and water. These pipes are connected to the geothermal system which heats or cools your home. The system of HVAC can be more efficient due to the steady temperature underground.

Can you give me information on solar energy?
Question by Amy: Can you give me information on solar energy?
I would love to use some solar energy in my home. What can you tell me about how much it costs to begin? Is there some sort of federal tax credit? What all do I need to buy (panels, batteries, etc)? Can a homeowner do the installation or must it be done by a professional? Would also appreciate any websites for retailers of solar energy items. Thank you very much for any information.

First, I reported the scumbag who gave the only reply so far, and I hope you did, too.
I’d also like to use solar energy, and I can only add what little I’ve learned so far. I’ve read several articles which suggest that a homeowner *can* do a lot of installations of solar equipment, but I’m afraid I can’t give you any details. One website I’ve seen for years, now, is www.mrsolar.com . At that site, they give both information and retail links (if not direct sales).
And yes, I have seen mentions of Federal tax credits for the use of some of these products — though again I can’t give you any details.
I just did a search for some more web retailers that carry solar equipment. Here goes…

Solardyne.com

I also discovered what looks like another good information source: http://www.homepower.com/ You can probably get lots of answers there.
Good luck, and glad to see the interest in renewable energy.
